U.S. Keeps Anti-Dumping duties on Chinese BFA

Jun. 11, 2025 - on June 4, the U.S. International Trade Administration, Department of Commerce (Commerce) issued a notice, making a positive final determination in the fourth sunset review of anti-dumping duties on Refined Brown Aluminum Oxide imported from China. It was concluded that the revocation of the current anti-dumping measures would lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping of the products from China at a margin of 135.18%.
On November 20, 2002, the U.S. Department of Commerce initiated an anti-dumping investigation into Refined Brown Aluminum Oxide imported from China. On September 26, 2003, the U.S. Department of Commerce made a positive final anti-dumping determination on the same product. On November 9, 2003, the U.S. officially imposed anti-dumping duties on Refined Brown Aluminum Oxide imported from China.
Subsequently, the U.S. conducted three sunset reviews on this case and made positive final determinations, extending the validity of the anti-dumping duties on March 13, 2009, October 14, 2014, and March 6, 2020, respectively. On February 3, 2025, the U.S. Department of Commerce initiated the fourth anti-dumping sunset review investigation into Refined Brown Aluminum Oxide imported from China.
