May 21, 2025 - From January to April 2025, China imported a total of 67.77 million tons of bauxite, an increase of 34.3% year-on-year. Compared with 29.93% in the first quarter, the growth rate has further expanded.

In terms of the country of origin, Guinea ranked the first with 53.12 million tons of bauxite, accounting for 78.38% of China's total imports, an increase of 42.2% year-on-year; Australia was the second largest source of imports with 10.50 million tons, taking up 15.49% of the total imports, down 5.4% year-on-year.

Other source countries of imports also included Turkey, Ghana, Malaysia, Laos, Guyana, Montenegro, Cote d 'Ivoire, India, Sierra Leone, Pakistan, Jamaica, Brazil, etc, with the total imports were 4.15 million tons, accounting for 6.12% of China's total imports, a surge of 109% year-on-year.
